Got this email from Todd Cochrane from Raw Voice (the gents behind blubrry.com). It sounds like a good idea. When Rob Greenly was on my buddy Ray Oretga's show, he mentioned a bit about the future of podcasting and Zune. It's never a bad idea to let a giant platform like Windows know we listen to podcasts.
This is the first time we have ever sent out this type of email. We need all Podcasters to help send a “positive” message to Microsoft that podcasting is important.
Windows 8 is due to launch with absolutely “no” Podcasting support. While many of us may use iOS devices, have an Apple computer, or even being an Android user. One thing we need to remember is that 100's of millions of potential listeners and viewers use Windows computers.
Microsoft's goal with Windows 8, is to create synergy between the desktop, tablet, windows phone, and ultimately Xbox. Very similar to what Apple has already accomplished.
Today Microsoft posted a list of Windows 8 Apps that will launch with the platform. Missing is any mention of Podcasting support. We encourage each of you to leave a “positive” comment on the Microsoft Blog post asking for podcasting support.
This will take less than 5 minutes, we need to let Microsoft know we want our Windows users to have the ease of subscribing and listening to podcast that is afforded users on other platforms.
Follow the link below and ask Microsoft politely to add an podcasting app to Windows 8!

Ask your audience members to ask for this support as well. Get word out on Twitter, Facebook, Google+ etc.. Lets create a ground swell of pro-podcast comments to send a clear message to Microsoft that we want a podcast app for Windows 8
Let our Voices be heard..

It wont work. The reason is the word. It’s the “pod” part of the word and the image it conjures up. iPods=Apple.
Weather or not that is true I wouldn’t hold my breath. They are a company in business to make money and prolly dont want to have any kind of branding issues.
Why couldnt a developer build one and release it later? Why do they need a native app like Apple?
Besides it’s windows and if it’s like their last few OS releases it will be a year before most of it works the way its supposed to, LOL!
